Anderson driver accused of ramming police cars

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Anderson woman was arrested Monday night after police said she was driving drunk and rammed police cars with her vehicle.

According to an incident report, a caller reported that they were following a drunken driver. It said that police responded to the area and got behind the suspected vehicle.

The report said that the vehicle drove off the shoulder of the road three times. It said that when officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver would not stop. It said that eventually the driver stopped near Amity Road, and officers used their cruisers to box in the car.

The incident report said that the driver then pulled forward and crashed into one of the cruisers, and then backed up, crashing into another cruiser.

Eventually, Candice Stanley, 20, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to stop for blue lights and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Stanley was released from jail on $15,000 bond.
