TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Travelers Rest woman who said her beloved stone goose statue was stolen and ransomed in April has bought a new one to stand proudly in her front yard.

Barbara Aiken and her grandson were filled with so much joy to put Lucy Allison back on display in her yard. Greenville County investigators told FOX Carolina the old one was stolen four months ago and the homeowners caught the suspect on camera.

The picture was captured after Aiken and her husband hung a wildlife camera in their yard to catch the guy who left multiple letters in their mailbox requesting money for the return of the old goose.

"We haven't gotten anything back from the guy," Aiken said.

SLIDESHOW: Goose named Lucy stolen, ransomed

Aiken and her family spent Tuesday afternoon getting the new goose, Lucy Allison, dressed and ready to greet neighbors in her neighborhood. She said they've added extra security this time.

"We will cement her to the platform in my front yard," Aiken said.

The former Lucy Allison had been on display for about 12 years and was dressed to the nines for every occasion. Her replacement has now been decorated with eye lashes, nail polish, and clothes fit for a goose.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of the old goose, call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
