ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
An Anderson man was killed in a fire at a home near Lake Hartwell on Friday morning, according to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore.
Shore said a Highway Patrol trooper saw smoke about 11 a.m. He said that when the trooper arrived at the Peninsula Drive home, he found it engulfed in flames. He said the trooper found the woman who owns the home standing outside.
The woman's boyfriend, 72-year-old Charles Foehrenbach, was found dead near the front door of the home, Shore said. He said the woman was treated for minor injuries at AnMed Health.

Shore said Foehrenbach died from smoke inhalation.
Firefighters said the blaze appeared to have started because of a short in the coffee maker.
Friday was the homeowner's birthday, Shore said. He said there had been two previous fires at the home in the past two years.
