Upstate church prays for Colorado victims

MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Colorado movie theater shooting has captivated the attention of people nationwide and has prompted members of Reedy River Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville County to pray for the victims and their families.

Pastor Antwion Yowe said, "The shooting could have happened anywhere and I just wanted everyone to come together as one to pray."

Yowe said his children have asked to see the movie and the massacre have led to some concerns.

"We teach our kids to be aware of their surroundings, but not afraid of the community they live in," he said.

Yowe said the church plans to continue praying for everyone affected next week at their nightly revival Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.
