Good morning! I'm back after a trip up to the Northeast - it included lots of driving but it was worth it! I thought I'd escape some of the heat and humidity... but it was just as hot in Syracuse as it was here! At least we got a little rainy/cloudy time in PA by late last week... that made it a little more comfortable!
Locally we'll keep the higher heat and humidity - highs will be slightly above-normal today (low/mid 90s in the Upstate, upper 80s in WNC), but it will feel a few degrees warmer with the high dewpoints.
The morning will stay dry and sunny - but as we get into the afternoon/early evening we will have more cloud cover overhead. That's not to say it will be overcast, so you'll still need sunscreen if you're heading to the pool or sports practices. A few hit-or-miss showers/t-storms will develop as we get into those peak heating hours - so keep an eye out. However, more areas will stay dry this afternoon than see a storm overhead.
The pattern will stay the same through the remainder of the week - the story will be heat, humidity and PM storm chances. With the set-up, there is the chance for an MCS to affect us during the overnight/early morning hours on Tuesday or Wednesday, but the chance is slim. Kendra will be watching for any t-storm complexes to our NW each night - so check in with her for more at 10 and 11.
Have a great Monday!
