GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Someone in the Upstate bought a winning $250,000 Mega Millions lottery ticket from a store in Piedmont.

South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased at the Hickory Point store at 2312 Easley Hwy for the July 20 drawing.

The winning numbers were 2, 44, 48, 50, and 52, Megaball 3 with Megaplier 3.

The ticket sold in Piedmont matched all five white ball numbers drawn Friday night. Had the ticket holder purchased Megaplier for an extra $1, the $250,000 Match 5 prize would have been upped to an automatic $1 million. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 3,904,701.

Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes otherwise the money goes to the education fund.
