Man drowns in Lake Keowee near Six Mile

PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man drowned in Lake Keowee in Pickens County on Monday morning.

Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said 36-year-old Timothy Clayton was swimming near a dock at Gap Hill Landing near Six Mile when he went underwater about 7:45 a.m.

Kelley said Clayton was rescued by divers and was pronounced dead at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
