Spartanburg man accused of shooting brother

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police said a man shot his brother during an argument Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened at 12:23 p.m. at a home on Dr. O.C. Kirkland Terrace.

Police said that 21-year-old Gregory Bennett Jr. got into an argument with his brother after he accused Bennett of stealing from him. They said the argument escalated to the point where Bennett shot his brother in the leg.

Bennett was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was being held in the county jail.

Bennett's brother was treated at a local hospital for his injuries and released.
