WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Seneca man was killed in a motorcycle crash near Mountain Rest on Tuesday.

The two-vehicle crash happened about 2:45 p.m. near the entrance to the Low Water Bridge parking area on Highway 28.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said 63-year-old John Cross was driving his motorcycle on the road when he used his hand to indicate a left turn. He said that a teen driver behind Cross thought the motorcyclist was giving permission to pass him. He said that when Cross began making his left turn, the teen's vehicle hit the back of Cross' motorcycle.

Addis said Cross died at the scene. He said Cross was not wearing a helmet.
