GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Charlotte-area man is traveling across the Upstate in an effort to find a classic car that was stolen this week from a Greer body shop.

Greer police said Jim Lineberger's 1968 Camaro was stolen Monday night from Scott's Body Shop and Towing off Wade Hampton Boulevard. The shop said the car was almost ready when it was stolen from their garage.

Since then, Lineberger has put posters up and ads out on Craigslist looking for the Camaro. He said he's determined to get the car back because he said he's suffering from a kidney disease and he's not sure how long he has to live.

Lineberger said he wants to be able to enjoy the car with his son before he dies. And after he passes, Lineberger said the car will be his son's inheritance.

Lineberger is offering a $10,000 reward for information, with half the money being put up by Scott's Body Shop itself. The shop said this is the first time something has been stolen from their lot, and they're working to make sure it doesn't happen again.

"Not that I think it's right, but I'm willing to give the guy who stole it money back, that's how important it is to me," said Lineberger.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Greer police at 864-848-2151 or they can reach Lineberger himself at 704-363-3475.
