Carolina Panthers ready for training camp - FOX Carolina 21

When customers walk into Venus Pie Pizzeria in Spartanburg, they're greeted by a Carolina Panthers' sign next to the front door. And inside, there's talk of what's on the menu and what the Carolina Panthers might be able to dish out this season.
"I'm a big Panthers' fan, love Cam Newton, very excited about what he may be able to do this year," Clint Robinson said.
Robinson is a Panthers' fan and loves it when players make their way to Spartanburg for training camp.
"It's huge for Spartanburg and very good for the state," Robinson said.
Friday was move-in day for the team. For several weeks, dorms at Wofford College will become their new homes.
"I've always loved move-in day because they're moving into the dorms that we lived in Freshman year."
And while Kate Conner waited for her pizza, she said she hopes the Panthers serve up a Super Bowl ring.
"I'm super excited, I love the Panthers," Conner said.
The Panthers ended their season 6-10 and so players and coaches want to get to the playoffs.
"We've got enough quality football players on this football team, we've got enough veteran leadership on this football team, that there's no reason for us not to improve and get better," said Head Coach, Ron Rivera.
Fans said with veterans like wide receiver Steve Smith and quarterback Cam Newton, they just might get there.
"We already know, we know what we can do, just can we build on it, I think," Smith said.
And that's what Panthers' fans want to hear.
The Training Camp Kickoff Party is set at 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Gibbs Stadium plaza on Wofford's campus. The team will practice and then the party will resume from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
