SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Police said thieves damaged several car wash control boxes, stealing the coins from inside by using the car wash's vacuums.
Spartanburg police said between 6 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday, someone stole $400 from the carwash at 601 Union Street.
The business owner told officers that someone pried open three car wash control boxes to take the coins and it looked like the suspect(s) possibly used the car wash's vacuum to suck the coins out of the boxes.
Police said the coin machines and a heavy-duty vacuum were damaged.
