ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The body of a northeast Georgia sailor who was killed in Afghanistan returned home Wednesday.
The Navy said Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Brodsky, 33, of Tamarac, FL, died July 21 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, from injuries related to a dismounted improvised explosive device blast.
He was assigned to Navy Region Southwest Security Detachment, San Diego.

A plane carrying his body landed at the Anderson Regional Airport about 1 p.m. Wednesday and his casket was escorted to Strickland Funeral Home in Hartwell, GA.
People in Hartwell were asked to line the streets to honor Brodsky.
