ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
An Anderson County bridge was closed Wednesday after a hole was found in it.
Officials said they were called about a hole that had formed in the northbound lane of the bridge on Airline Road that spans Beaver Creek. They said crews found a 12-inch hole that was about five feet deep.
Traffic is detoured onto state Highway 28 to Hayes Road, officials said. They said only delivery vehicles and residents will be allowed within the closed area.
Officials said the bridge will be closed until repairs are complete, but did not provide a date.
