Good Thursday morning - it's been an overall quiet, easy-going morning. We had only a few areas with patchy dense fog (mainly in Franklin, NC), and only a few raindrops very early this morning. Through the remainder of the AM hours, we'll stay mostly sunny and dry.
The afternoon will bring a few extra clouds - they'll be the puffy cumulous clouds you can spot shapes in. While the majority of towns in WNC, NE GA and the Upstate will stay totally dry, I can't rule out the chance of an isolated shower or t-storm this afternoon. I think the southern spots may have a little better chance of seeing some action on the radar, but even there the chance is very slim.
Highs will be a bit hotter than they were yesterday - we'll hit the low/mid 90s in the Upstate and the upper 80s/near 90 degrees in the Mountains - and it will be muggy, too. Temperatures will fall a bit for the end of the week and weekend, but we'll still be near/slightly above-normal through Friday and the weekend.
Tomorrow will bring a better opportunity for more storm coverage during the afternoon and evening - so more of you will need the umbrella during your Friday night plans. We'll keep higher rain and t-storm chances this weekend and early next week - so those of you wanting more wet weather will probably see it.
We continue to watch Tropical Depression #5, but it's WAY out there at this point. It will take until early next week for it to reach Jamaica... but we'll keep tracking it and will give you the latest from the NHC!
