SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Abbeville County deputies are still searching for a woman they said helped her ex-husband kidnap a man, and then left him on the side of the road naked.

Thirty-five-year-old Kristie Howard is wanted in relation to the incident that happened in Honea Path early Thursday morning.

Kristie Howard's ex-husband Timothy Howard was arrested following a standoff in Simpsonville Thursday.

The victim John Lawton said he's happy authorities caught Timothy Howard but said he won't feel better until Kristie Howard is behind bars as well.

Thursday night, Greenville County deputies and a SWAT team captured Timothy Howard at his home in Simpsonville. However, for Lawton, the terror still isn't over.

"I'm scared they might come back, I'm trying to do what I can to keep that from happening," said Lawton.

He said it all started Thursday morning when a strange car appeared outside his residence. He said he heard Timothy and Kristie Howard threatening another man who lived with him, they were accusing him of stealing, and were waving around a gun.

The victim said next thing he knew he was ordered into the Howard's car at gunpoint, while they drove down the road.

"I was real scared, I was more in shock than anything," said Lawton. "I didn't know what were the possibilities of me getting shot, something bad or dangerous happening to me."

Lawton said he tried to escape, and when he couldn't he thought the worst. After an hour he said they let him go.

"They took me down some back road and made me strip off my clothes to where I didn't have any," said Lawton. He said that's how the pair left him.

"I thought they were going to come back," said Lawton "I hid in the bushes every time I heard a car come by."

Eventually he was picked up by a deputy, who he said in this case could have been his guardian angel.

"I'm thankful I'm still alive," said Lawton. "I'm thanking God and the Lord above I'm still alive."

Lawton and the couple he lives with said they don't know anything about the stolen property the Howards claim they took.

Deputies urge anyone with information about Kristie Howard's whereabouts to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.
