SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police said someone broke into several pieces of lawn equipment from a local park and stadium.

Sometime between Thursday and Friday mornings, someone broke into the storage shed at Duncan Park Stadium's baseball field on Duncan Park Drive.

Police said the grounds supervisor reported the thefts after someone had climbed the left field dugout, removed a metal gate in front of the shed and pried open the shed door.

Once inside the shed, officers said the suspect used an aluminum baseball bat to knock off the door knob to the room where the equipment was kept.

Four blowers, two trimmers, a push mower, an edger, two pitch forks, three rakes and a shovel were stolen, according to the police report.

Police said the value of the stolen items were estimated at more than $1700.

The report did not have any information about subject(s). Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
