Police: Man shoots teen daughter, then kills self

PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Pickens police said a man locked himself inside his home Sunday after shooting his 16-year-old daughter.

Officers were called to the home on Timber Drive after the girl was shot about 11:15 p.m.

They said they had to bring in the SWAT team because her dad, Andrew Kowszik, holed himself inside his bedroom and would not respond to police, firing several more shots.

The SWAT forced their way inside the home and found Kowszik had killed himself, police said.

The girl was treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder at Greenville Memorial, officers said.
