The suspect in the beating death of a Greenville woman last month turned himself in to authorities Tuesday, according to Greenville County deputies.
Deputies said that on July 15 they went to 8 Valentine St. to check on a person who lived there after a neighbor said she had not been seen for a couple of days. They said they found the body of 59-year-old Ramona Hatton inside.
On Monday, deputies identified 30-year-old Ramane Green, of Simpsonville, as a suspect in Hatton's death.
According to a warrant issued for Green's arrest, evidence found at the home indicates he was present at the time Hatton died.
Deputies said on Tuesday that Green turned himself in after he was told that his picture was shown on television.
