ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
A fugitive from Greenville County, SC, was arrested in Candler on Monday, according to the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they received a tip through Crime Stoppers that Jeremiah Bowen was staying at a home on Brown Lynch Road. They said a database search revealed that Bowen was wanted after he failed to appear for a hearing in Greenville County on charges of aggravated assault.
Investigators said they obtained a search warrant for the home and deputies surrounded it. They said they were able to coax a child out of the home before they entered it and arrested Bowen and a woman in the home, identified as Christina Roberts.
Deputies said they found guns and drugs inside the home.
In addition to the fugitive warrant, Bowen was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in jail on $70,000 bond.
Roberts was charged with harboring of a fugitive from justice, child abuse, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was being held in jail on $15,000 bond.
It was not immediately clear when Bowen will be extradited to South Carolina to face charges there.
