Not too shabby for mid-summer... as we've seen several inches of rain over the past week! The U.S. drought monitor shows much of our area continuing to deal with severe to extreme drought (mainly along 85 and south), but once the new rain totals from this week are factored in that could be adjusted!
Here are our 48 hour totals as of 7pm Tuesday:
2.41" Spartanburg
2.82" Anderson
1.73" Clemson
1.22" Greenville
0.35" Asheville
The widespread rain is behind us for now, and we'll have scattered showers and storms tomorrow (about a 30% chance of rain for Wednesday afternoon). Thursday will be more typical for August as highs get back to around 90 in the Upstate and rain chances will be just slight. But, by Friday a cold front will approach and bring a good chance of rain, and possibly some severe weather. Once the rain moves out Saturday morning, temps will be unseasonably cool for the weekend with highs back into the mid 80s and lower humidity! We SHOULD be dry for Saturday afternoon through Sunday.
