More Sun, Less Rain - FOX Carolina 21

More Sun, Less Rain

Posted: Updated:

Good morning, and happy Wednesday!  It's been a much quieter morning, except into parts of northern Madison County in WNC.  Some strong thunderstorms earlier this AM brought some very heavy rainfall (1-2+ inches), so the NWS posted a Flood Advisory for the minor flooding chances.

Much of the region has been dry this morning, but we still have some areas of low clouds and light fog.  The clouds will give way to sunshine through the rest of the morning - so by lunchtime and into the afternoon you can expect partly cloudy sky cover.  That means you'll be able to use the sunglasses again!

Highs will range from the mid to upper 80s and it will stay muggy, so the pool will be very tempting!  That should be fine for most, but we will have to be on the lookout for a few hit-or-miss storms this afternoon.  These storms will be widely scattered at best, so many areas will remain dry - but any storm could bring some heavy rain, lots of lightning and even some strong wind gusts.

Tomorrow will be nearly the same forecast-wise, before a cold front brings a higher chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday.  That means your Friday night plans could again be affected by wet weather... but the good news is that behind the front, it looks like we'll enjoy a pleasant weekend.  Saturday and Sunday feature more sun, less humidity and temperatures near (if not a bit below) normal.
