An Anderson man bought the last scratch-off ticket in the case and quickly discovered he won $200,000.
South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the self-employed man said the winnings will help him remain his own boss.
"I'm paying off everything, and going debt free," the winner told lottery officials in Columbia.
The man bought the winning Color of Money scratch-off ticket at Eddie's Minute Mart on Abbeville Highway in Anderson.
The man told officials he had spent half of last week roofing his house, and as soon as he scratched the ticket, he decided to drive straight to Columbia to collect his winnings instead of getting back up on the roof.
The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 440,000. As of Tuesday, five top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 The Color of Money game.
For selling the claimed ticket, Eddie's Minute Mart in Anderson received a commission of $2,000.
