ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Evangelist Billy Graham was released from an Asheville hospital Tuesday after being treated for bronchitis.

The 93-year-old preacher was admitted to Mission Hospital early Sunday.

"Mr. Graham had a quick recovery and responded very well to his treatment," said Mission Hospital pulmonologist Dr. Daniel Fertel. "Catching these types of pulmonary infections early is crucial for a fast recovery, as was the case for Mr. Graham. Despite this illness he remains remarkably healthy for a 93-year-old man."

Officials said that at his time of admission, Graham was alert and in good spirits. They said he enjoyed watching his grandson preaching on television, visited with family and watched the closing ceremony of the Olympics.

"I am grateful for the exceptional care I received at Mission Hospital," Graham said.  "It is never easy going to the hospital, but the doctors and nurses here provided me with wonderful care."

Graham was previously hospitalized for successful treatment of pneumonia in November 2011.
