Programs geared towards teen pregnancy are normally geared towards females, but the spotlight was put on males Saturday morning in the Upstate.
Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity in Greenville hosted the event as part of their Project Alpha initiative to educate males between the ages of 12 and 17 about fatherhood and their role in relationships. It was an opportunity where young males didn't just receive information, but shared their own experiences in an all-male setting.
"We look at how we're impacting and reaching the kids. What we see are kids actually listening to us and they're taking the knowledge and using it in their day to day lives," said Alpha Phi Alpha Spokesperson Chuck Ford.
The fraternity said the program helped motivate young men to make decisions about their life goals and what they can do to reach them.
