GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The odds were not against one lucky ticket holder Wednesday night when someone won a $337 million Powerball jackpot.
The winning numbers were 56, 27, 46, 6, 51 and the Powerball was 21.
The jackpot was the fourth largest in history, up from $320 million on Tuesday, which had a cash option of $213 million - the largest cash option in Powerball ever.
While the winner has yet to come forward, the winning ticket is from Michigan.
Prior to the drawing at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday, people were out in large numbers buying lottery tickets. Some people purchased several tickets in hopes of increasing their odds of winning.
Most people said if they won $340 million they couldn't imagine how they would spend it.
The South Carolina Education Lottery said three years ago this month was the last time a Palmetto State resident bought a Powerball ticket that won the then $259 million jackpot.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 176 million.
There were also several lucky Match 5 $1,000,000 winners but none in the Carolinas.
Tune into FOX Carolina at 10:59 p.m. on Saturday for the next Powerball drawing, which has a jackpot of $40 million with a cash option of $26.7 million.
