GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
One of the nation's most popular sausage brands is recalling a flavor of turkey sausage because there may be pieces of glove in it.
Wisconsin-based Johnsonville Sausage recalled select 13.5-ounce vacuum packages of Johnsonville "Turkey Sausage with Cheddar Cheese" with a "Best By" date of "08/20/2012" and the establishment number "EST. P-34224." The sausage was produced on May 22.
The company said the recall is of more than 48,000 pounds of sausage because it might contain pieces of a foreign material. Officials said there have been no reports of injury, and no other products or flavors are impacted by this situation.
The products were distributed in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
