Beautiful Thursday!

Good morning!  It's been a foggy start to the day, especially in Western North Carolina, but that's the only weather problem we'll be dealing with today.  Today's forecast is about as good as you can get for summer-time, as we've got low humidity, sunshine and normal highs coming our way.

Highs this afternoon will rise into the low 80s in the Mountains, while Upstate highs will reach the upper 80s and low 90s.  The low humidity will keep the heat manageable, so it'll be a great day to head to the pool, golf course or back porch!  Even the outdoor workers will notice the more comfortable heat today.  Sunshine will stick around all day - so if you will be outside, be sure you have sunscreen on!

On Friday a cold front will approach, with that front holding stationary over our area through the weekend.  You know what that means - scattered rain and t-storm chances will stick around through the weekend.  The chance of storms will arrive in the Mountains on Friday afternoon but will probably hold off until the evening for the Upstate.  Some storms could be strong - and the SPC has already placed us in the Slight Risk area for Day 2 (see the Convective Outlook here).

With that front stationary over the region this weekend, we'll keep scattered rain and storm chances on Saturday and Sunday.  Of course, that's not the greatest news for those of you with outdoor plans - but at least if you want to see a movie or do some cleaning inside you'll be able to do it without feeling guilty that you're missing out on nice weather.

Also, we saw Tropical Storm Gordon form this morning in the Atlantic.  This won't approach the United States or Bermuda - but you still may want to take a look at what the storm is up to... here's the NHC info on Gordon.
