WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
An Upstate man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday after he was convicted of first-degree burglary.
Prosecutors said that on Sept. 2, 2011, Curtis Land pried open the back door of a Westminster home and went inside. They said a 13-year-old boy, who was home at the time, pointed a gun at Land, who fled.
"Life without parole is an appropriate sentence for a career criminal such as Land," said 10th Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams.
Land will never be eligible for parole, Adams said.
