GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
This year's BMW Charity Pro-Am raised $643,571 for 27 Upstate charities.
On Thursday, checks were presented to each of the participating charities during a ceremony at the BMW Zentrum.
Since 2001, the golf tournament has raised more than $9.25 million for more than 150 charities.
"After 12 years, I am even more convinced that this event and the money it raises for our community plays a significant role in contributing to our local economy," said South Carolina Charities President Bob Nitto. The group manages the pro-am.
Volunteers were also recognized during the ceremony, including Monty Wiggins, Paul Sargent, Joni Puckett, David Alverson and Shawn Crisp.
