GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said two teens were burned when the aerosol can they were playing with exploded Monday night.

Emergency crews were called to a house on Cogin Drive in Greer after a neighbor heard an explosion, according to Lt. Tim Ridgeway of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

Ridgeway said the boys, 15 and 16 years old, were spraying hairspray on a fire when the fire traveled up the spray and the can exploded.

Ridgeway said the 16-year-old suffered burns to his face, chest and neck. He said the boy was flown to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment.

The second teen suffered burns to his chin and was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment, Ridgeway said.
