Timothy Jones (Spartanburg Co. Sheriff's Office)
SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said a Hot Spot employee was arrested after he traded store goods for cocaine.
Spartanburg County deputies were notified Tuesday that an employee at the Battleground Road Hot Spot had stolen from the store.
Hot Spot's corporate security officer told deputies that Timothy Jones, 21, was seen on camera and admitted to trading store merchandise for drugs.
On Saturday, Jones said a man came in that he had bought drugs from before and suggested he would trade cocaine for the goods, so Jones agreed, according to a Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office report.
The report said Jones let the man take beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets worth $448.
Jones was arrested and charge with breach of trust. The report said he was also trespassed from all Hot Spot locations. He was later released from jail on a $2,000 bond.
