SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A school bus taking students to Seneca-area schools Thursday morning was delayed when one of its tires sank into a hole in the road.

Michael Thorsland, a spokesman with the School District of Oconee County, said the bus was turning left when the left rear tire sank into a hole, believed to be caused by a broken water line under the road.

According a FOX Carolina iWitness said the bus was pulling out of the Greenfield Apartments onto S. Depot Street when it sank. She said no one was injured.

Thorsland said another bus was sent to pick up the students and the driver did a great job evacuating students from the bus and keeping them out of harm's way.

The bus will have to be towed out of the hole before it can be assessed for possible damage, Thorsland said.
