HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A Henderson County couple reported missing Monday was found dead in Texas on Friday afternoon, according to deputies.

Capt. Frank Stout, of the sheriff's office, said that Dr. Leslie Cargile, 53, and her husband, 58-year-old William Cargile Jr., left their Tuxedo home for a weekend trip and never returned.

Stout said they were contacted by the staff at Leslie Cargile's practice in Black Mountain when she did not show up for work Monday morning.

A check of the couple's home did not turn up anything suspicious, Stout said. He said nothing has been found that would lead deputies to believe foul play was involved in their disappearance.

On Friday, deputies said that the couple left their home about noon on Saturday and arrived in Mobile, AL, at 8:19 p.m., where they checked into a hotel. They said the couple checked out the following morning and had not been seen since.

Galveston police told FOX Carolina that the Cargiles' bodies were found in a motel room just before 2 p.m. Friday. Police did not immediately release how the couple died, but did say they did not suffer gunshot or stab wounds.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

An answering service for Leslie Cargile's practice said the office was closed indefinitely as of 5 p.m. Thursday. They tell us you can request your medical records in writing and it should include your full name, date of birth and location where you want them sent.  You should send the request to:
