FOUNTAIN INN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Fountain Inn man is wanted after police said he has stolen various items including guns, golf carts and antiques.

Fountain Inn Police Chief Keith Morton said Matthew Williams of 204 Quillen St. is wanted in connection with thefts across the Upstate.

Morton said Williams was recently arrested after a stolen Bi-Lo bull was found in his backyard. The woman called police after she noticed the missing bull, which appears to be life-size and fiberglass. She said it was stolen from her home in Gray Court in Laurens County.

When police went to Williams' home to get the statue and arrest him, they said they noticed several other items that may have been stolen. Williams was later released from jail on bond.

Since he was released, Morton said they executed seven search warrants at his home and removed 25 pages worth of stolen goods. He said they removed various items including guns, a safe, golf carts, an old store sign from Martin's General Store in Ware Shoals and some old Coca-Cola signs.

Last week, the Laurens County Sheriff's Office said the two Coca-Cola signs were stolen from the roof of Martin's Store on Indian Mound Road between Aug. 11 and Aug. 14.

Store owner Jane Blackwell said the signs had been a landmark for loyal customers for nearly a decade. Blackwell said it's clear someone must have planned to climb to the top of the building, and take them from their 100-year home.

"I feel disappointed," said Backwell. "They truly are irreplaceable, how much someone could get from them money-wise, they mean more than that to us."

Anyone who may have had antiques or vintage items stolen is asked to call Fountain Inn police because Morton said they are still working to find the owners of some items.
