TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Mold was found in part of Heritage Elementary School in Travelers Rest on Wednesday.
School district officials said that the mold was found in the school's media center, science lab, seven classrooms and three offices.
Officials said engineers were at the school Wednesday night to determine the extent of the mold problem and clean it up. They said the areas have been cleared for occupancy after they are cleaned.
The effected areas will remain closed to students and staff until results from air quality tests are received, which should be Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, officials said.
