EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate family said their little girl will have a great story to tell about how she came into the world.

Mom and dad planned to have her in the hospital just like they did with their first two. But, something unexpected happened.

Amanda Powell and her fiancé Timothy Sheys told FOX Carolina they thought little Sofia was going to come two weeks early on Saturday, Aug. 18. So, the couple drove about 20 minutes away from their Easley home to Greenville Memorial Hospital late that evening.

They said doctors told them it wasn't time and sent them back home. Powell said a few hours later the contractions started again and about 5:40 a.m. a Pickens County EMT arrived to help her husband and mother deliver their third daughter, Sofia.

Timothy admitted he was a little nervous, but he has had a little practice considering the couple already have two the girls.

The parents are just grateful to have a healthy baby.
