Keith Rollins Jr. (Greenville Co. Sheriff's Office)
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said a man led them on a chase before crashing a car that was reported stolen on Monday.
Greenville County deputies said they were responding to a report of a stolen car when a deputy spotted the vehicle about 8:45 a.m. near Travelers Rest.
The deputy tried to stop the car, a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, but the suspect fled leading authorities on a short chase.
Deputies said they called off the chase as the suspect posed too much of a risk to other drivers.
A short time later, the suspect was found after crashing the stolen car into a tree, deputies said. The suspect was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. No one else was involved in the crash.
Keith Rollins Jr., 29, was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop for blue lights and issued citations for no drivers license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $6,461 bond.
