One local gym is going high tech to get people in shape.
You can now depend on a robotic avatar to help you stay on track in the gym. Knock It Out Fitness and Spa in Greenville is the first to have the new technology.
Trainers said this piece of machinery talks to you like a trainer and tells you when and where to kick and punch, almost like a Simon Says.
"Basically it's just like a person," said Chris Burgess with Knock It Out. "You have all the different functions on it and on each pad it has an accelerometer which gauges pounds per square inch and it will actually measure the intensity that you hit it with."
Knock It Out Fitness and Spa said the avatar is a great cardio workout for anyone who likes boxing or mixed martial arts and it doesn't cost anything extra to use the robotic trainer.
