SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies have arrested a former Hot Spot clerk again for trading store goods for illegal drugs.

Spartanburg County deputies said Timothy Jones, 21, was arrested after surveillance video showed he traded $34 worth of ice cream for narcotics while working at the Hot Spot store on E. Main Street on Aug. 12.

Deputies said the Aug. 12 theft was not reported until Tuesday following the investigation of the first incident Aug. 18.

Jones was previously arrested Aug. 21 when deputies said he let his alleged drug dealer take beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets worth $448 from the Hot Spot on Battleground Road.

Deputies said both incidents were identical in nature. Jones was charged with breach of trust and released from jail on a $2,000 bond.

Following his first arrest, the sheriff's office report said Jones was trespassed from all Hot Spot locations.
