GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies across three counties are looking for at least one suspect targeting Verizon Wireless stores and stealing various electronic devices.

Five stores have been robbed in Anderson, Spartanburg and Greenville counties. In all five cases, reports said a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt smashed the glass of the store and went inside.

Among the items taken in all of the cases are iPhones, iPads and other display electronic items, authorities said.

Master Deputy Laura Campbell with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said the man works very quickly.

"Alarms went off in both of our cases, but he was in and out so fast," Campbell said.

In one of the most recent robberies, a hooded man broke into the Verizon store on East Blackstock Road in Spartanburg. Officers responding to the scene tracked the man with a canine officer but were unable to find him.

Campbell said in the two Greenville County cases, the man was inside the store less than a minute and took thousands of dollars in merchandise. Campbell said she is not sure why the man is targeting the stores but has an idea why he is taking smart phones and tablets.

"IPhones are in high demand, are of high value and would hold a good resale value," said Campbell.

While Campbell believes the two Greenville County cases are connected, investigators in Anderson and Spartanburg have not said whether they believe all five cases are connected.

If anyone has any information on these thefts, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
