Thieves try to steal countertops from Piedmont homes

PIEDMONT, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are investigating three burglaries after someone tried to steal the kitchen countertops from homes under construction in the Piedmont area.

Greenville County deputies said someone entered three homes being built by D.R. Horton Homebuilders along Marehaven Court off of Sandy Springs Road.

Sometime between 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m. on Wednesday, someone entered the homes, removed the granite countertops to steal, but dropped them on the floor then fled, investigators said.

The homes were not secured because they are under construction.

Deputies said they do not believe anything else was damaged or missing from the homes.

Thieves try to steal countertops from Piedmont homes
