TGIF! Here's the bottom line on the forecast: muggy with rain chances today and tomorrow, with some BIG and NICE changes by Sunday and the rest of the week ahead.
Today will be mainly dry, so don't let the rain chance get you worried. Rain chances this afternoon will be 20% or less - so most, if not all, areas will stay dry. The isolated shower/storm chance will come during the late-day commute and through the early evening... but most spots will only see mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky cover overhead. The heat will be the big attention-getter today, as highs rise into the low 90s in the Upstate and the mid 80s in the Mountains. As I said, it will stay muggy - but it won't be quite as 'tropical' as it was earlier this week.
On Saturday, a strong cold front will move through - bringing scattered rain and t-storms, especially in the Mountains. The good news is that the early-afternoon game times for Clemson and USC should help them avoid much of the wet weather. Clemson could see a few showers through the second half - but the higher chance for rain and storms will come after both games have ended (so keep that in mind if you have any post-game tailgate plans).
Behind the front, winds will pick up - so it will be windy Saturday night into Sunday morning. That front will usher in MUCH better outside weather for the end of the weekend - just in time for the start of the NFL season! If you head to an outside patio with the games showing, you'll enjoy the lower humidity, comfy temps (mid 70s in WNC, around 80 degrees in the Upstate) and lots of sunshine.
We'll keep that streak going through most of next week - so expect more beautiful weather! Highs will stay in the low/mid 80s in the Upstate and mid/upper 70s in WNC through Thursday. Drier air means humidity will be low, and morning temps will be cool and crisp! Sunshine sticks around through the week as well.
