GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Starting Monday, the Upstate Animal Rescue Foundation is holding an all-day and all-night pet adoption marathon until Sunday night at PetSmart on Woodruff Road in Greenville.
Kelly Blair, a volunteer with the organization, says it hopes to adopt more than 100 animals over the course of the seven days, but many more could be adopted.
The event is being hosted and sponsored by PetSmart charities, which has held big adopt-a-thons in the past but nothing on this scale before.

Dozens of volunteers are expected to be on site cleaning and feeding cages, which are being built right against the outside wall of the PetSmart building.
Dozens of dogs of all shapes and sizes will be outside while cats will be caged inside the establishment.
Adoption fees, which include an animal that is spayed or neutered with up-to-date shots are $65.
