Greenville County deputies said that an Eastside High School student was shocked with a stun gun during a fight in the parking lot Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies said that the school resource officer noticed a large crowd gathering in the parking lot while students were being dismissed. They said the officer notice two students squaring off and tried to stop the fight.
Investigators said that both students refused the officer's orders and continued fighting. They said that officer then used his Taser on 17-year-old Tariq Minter. They said the stun gun was ineffective and Minter fled the scene as other deputies arrived at the scene.
Minter was found a short time later at a nearby restaurant, deputies said. They said Minter had removed the Taser probes by the time he was found.
Both Minter and the second student, identified only as a 16-year-old boy, were charged with public disorderly conduct.
Minter was also charged with resisting arrest. He was being held in jail on $5,263 bond.
The second student was released to his parents.
