An Anderson County company has announced expansion plans that will invest $6.3 million and create 85 new jobs.
Watson Engineering Inc., a supplier of construction, agriculture and automotive components, said it plans to purchase a new building in Piedmont and move part of its current operation to the new location.
The expansion should be completed by the end of October.
The company said demand for its product has enabled it to grow, and it appreciates the workforce environment in South Carolina.
Watson Engineering has been located in Piedmont since June 2007, when it brought in 50 jobs and a $7.5 million initial investment to the community, said Anderson County Councilman Ken Waters.
"Just five short years later, their overwhelming success as a multi-million dollar global ISO certified industry called for expansion and we are pleased that they chose Anderson County as their expansion site," Waters said. "We applaud Watson Engineering and welcome 85 new jobs and $6.37 million new investment into our community."
The company will begin hiring in November to fill the new positions. Anyone interested should contact Laura Carden at email@example.com.
