ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
An Anderson County mother was sentenced to 10 years in prison Wednesday after she was convicted of neglecting her child.
Prosecutors said 25-year-old Ebonee Bowers was found guilty of unlawful neglect of a child.
Investigators said they were called to an Anderson emergency room after Bowers brought in her 17-month-old daughter, claiming the child had fallen a few days earlier. They said an investigation revealed the child's injuries were not accidental and were consistent with abuse.
Bowers' daughter was in the intensive car unit for several weeks, prosecutors said.
Tenth Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams said she is praying for the child's continued recovery.
