Weekend Warmth with Low Humidity: Even though our humidity will stay below of the uncomfortable range, temperatures will warm past 80 for Friday and Saturday. Saturday's highs may even get past 85° in a few towns. Aside from a slim chance for rain mainly across Western NC Friday evening and Saturday night, I'm having a hard time believing there will be much chance for isolated showers or storms in the Upstate due to the humidity being so low and no real forcing to spark storm development.
Fall Starts - Saturday: The recent string of comfortable days has been nothing but a positive way to close out summer! It has been especially nice considering the usual high humidity we deal with during the late part of summer. Furthermore, we usually see quite a few high humidity days in the early part of fall, but it sure doesn't look like there will be any stuffy, humid-filled days during the next week.
The reason for the recent cool-down and drop in humidity is that we have stayed on the winning end of a wind flow which has delivered cool air from the northern plains southeastward to the Western Carolinas.
The good news for early next week: this "northwest flow" pattern will be the dominant feature through the next four to five days with more sunshine and a blue sky.
Real Taste of Fall - Early Next Week: We'll feel the fresh supply of cool air on Monday and Tuesday. Both days will start in the 40s for Western NC and 50s for the Upstate/NE Georgia. Even with all day sunshine, highs will only reach the low-middle 70s in Upstate towns with 60s expected in Mountain towns. Enjoy it if you can!
