GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said a man who acted like he wanted to purchase a cell phone at a Greenville store last month swiped the phone and fled the store.
The theft happened about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at the T-Mobile store at 525 Congaree Rd.
Deputies said the man told the clerk he wanted to purchase a phone. They said that while the clerk was scanning the device, the man grabbed it and ran out of the store.
The man was described as black, in his middle 20s, about 5'6" tall and 150 pounds, with a military style haircut, a mustache or goatee and a gold tooth. He was wearing a white T-shirt and khaki pants. He also had tear drop tattoos under his left eye.
Anyone with information about the theft was asked to call Greenville County Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME (864-232-7463).
