Police arrest alleged Lake Lure drug dealer

LAKE LURE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said they arrested a Lake Lure man accused of selling drugs in the area.

Lake Lure police, with the help of Rutherford County deputies, arrested Casey McLaughlin, 48, on Sept. 19. at his home on Boys Camp Road.

Deputies said they believed McLaughlin was a drug dealer in the area and when they searched his home, they found 60 grams of marijuana, other drug paraphernalia and more than $600 in cash.

McLaughlin was charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute Schedule VI narcotics, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place with a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies said they also ticketed McLaughlin's neighbor with simple possession of marijuana and possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia.

McLaughin remains at the Rutherford County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond.
